The team at PROMETEO has been exploring the net looking for home pages wich reveal the presence, old and new, of poetry in the life of humankind, hoping to contribute to the task of bringing poetry closer to the people and of uniting the many and varied poetic iniciatives of our times.

To this end we have compiled a list of the Internet sites of :

  • Some of the most significant contemporary International Poetry Festivals (including Val-de-Marne, Trois-Rivières, Genova, Mondorf, Rotterdam and Rennes).
     
  • We also include here some Poetry Magazines on Internet (Internauta, Isibongo, La Mano Junto al Muro, La Nuvole, Fundo de Gaveta and The Atlantic Monthly´s).
     
  • Ancient and Medieval Poetry where myth and poetry intermingle (Babylonian Hymnes, Prometheus Bound, The Song of Amergin, texts of Hesiod, Homer and Virgil, The Eddas) and a selection of medieval poetry.
     
  • Poetry Anthologies, Afghan, Palestinian, French, Japonese, Indian, German, Finnish, Chilean, Iranian, Portuguese, Argentinian, Mexican, Lithuanian, Latin American, Catalan, Rumanian, South African, North American and Native American poets, along with more extensive anthologies of living poets.
     
  • The Directory also contains and extensive list of poets, with the partial or complete works of some of the most representative poets in the history of poetry.
     
  • The sites of Poetry Projects around the world, such as the Poetry School in Vienna and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics, in Boulder, Colorado, and Foundations (Jarry, Villon, García Lorca, Graves, Brecht ).
     
  • In adittion, we offer links to Homepages of Sound Poetry, with the voice of twentieth century poets in different languages, including Apollinaire, Sedar Senghor, Césaire, and acoustic poetry.
     
  • Finally, there are pages of Visual Poetry, concrete poetry and animated poems.
