Qassim Haddad (Bahrain, 1948)
I created out of this language a queen at the service of slaves.
I turned remaining brilliance into innumerous gates
open on all routes.
To horses of my dreams, I released the astonishment of valleys
and meadows of imagination .
To others, this language is nothing but snares
good at assaults and intrigues.
Translated by Mohammed Alkhozai.
